Kagabo is a self-taught visual artist and founder of Veda Studio, based in New Jersey. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, he creates abstract works that explore identity, memory, and human connection. Through layered color, texture, and form, his paintings evoke emotion beyond language and invite personal interpretation. With a background in law and sociology, Kagabo brings a multidisciplinary lens to his practice, engaging themes of belonging, resilience, and transformation. His work reflects the intersection of individual experience and collective narrative, often examining cultural identity and the idea of home. Kagabo has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions. His solo exhibition at the Verona Public Library (October–December 2024) received strong acclaim. Group exhibitions include Black and White Imprint at Studio Montclair (2024), State of the Art: The 28th Annual Exhibition (2025), the Newark Art Festival (2025), and Solos Fall Art Festival (2025), among others. Through studio practice and community engagement, Kagabo views art as a vehicle for dialogue, healing, and shared human storytelling.
