I enjoy using pastels. The colors can be bright and also nuanced, layered or subtracted, giving depth and mystery. I’ve had fun working with pastels and collage on cardboard, a ready-made, textured surface. Engaging with a piece until it expresses my point of view is very rewarding.
Tara Shorey grew up on the Coast of Maine always having an active imagination and loved nature. Tara used to sculpt mermaids in the sand and learned to fish through all four seasons. Tara traveled across the country and landed in the Beautiful Bay Area and Coast of California since 1999. Her deep understanding and relationship to Nature. Traveling from Coast to Coast has been a great source of Inspiration that she draws upon for her paintings, photography and designs. Tara originally trained in Silk Painting and hand building Ceramics made her way to Golden Liquid Acrylics changing her course and style from Stylized to Abstract Imagery on Large Scale Canvas’s. Her Original Paintings can be found in Buildings and Private Home Collections in the Bay Area. Currently Taras Originals are hanging in Innerstella Yoga Gallery in Berkeley California.
